Wow, It's Been a While

So it's been a long time since I've posted. I'm lame. Ok, that's not true, I'm just busy! Let me catch you up on some of the things we've been up to since my last post a month ago!

Adam & I carved our annual Halloween pineapple jack-o-lantern. (Here's the quick version of the story behind that in case you're not familiar---when we were engaged, Adam came up to Logan where I was going to school on Halloween and I really wanted to carve a pumpkin. Well, it was Halloween and there were no pumpkins at ANY STORE IN ALL OF LOGAN. So, as we were leaving the last one, he said, "Do you think we could carve a pineapple?" Well, the answer in fact is yes, you can carve a pineapple. We did it and it turned out really cute so that was the beginning of our first family tradition and now we do it every Halloween. I know, we're adorable!) ;) I'll post pics next week when I get them uploaded.

Then, it was my birthday on the 5th. I can't believe I'm 24! We went to Idaho and had a little party with the fam and it was way fun.

The next week, we went to St. George for a rugby tourament. It was good too. We saw "Stranger Than Fiction" while we were there and sadly it wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be. It was one of those movies that shows all the funny parts on the previews so by the time you actually see the movie it's like you've already seen it, ya know? It was good, just not what I thought it would be.

Then last week we went to Cancun! It was way fun! Adam's dad has a condo timeshare there and bought us plane tickets for Christmas last year (and this year!) so we just had to pay our food and activities while we were there. We left last Saturday and came back yesterday. I'll post more next week when I have my pictures uploaded. We did some fun stuff....went to Tulum, XCaret, jungle tours on jet boats (not so jungle-y if you ask me, but whatever), and played at the beach. I got a pretty good tan and we had a really good time. It was really weird being there for Thanksgiving because it totally didn't feel like Thanksgiving at all (and I missed out on Black Friday shopping), but it was just the price we had to pay I guess. Well....that and a pretty penny out of our savings....everything is so much more expensive when you're on vacation than you think it will be! It was really fun though, and we figured it's good that we don't have kids or a house to pay for or else we'd be in big trouble.

I'll post more this coming week with pictures and everything. Bye!

  • I'm glad you had a fun time. We missed you on Friday, and were more than a little jealous thinking of you on a warm beach while we were trekking from the car to the mall in 28 degree early morning darkness. Can't wait to see pictures!

  • I can't wait to see pictures!!!

That certainly is the cutetest Halloween tradition I have ever heard!

Glad you guys are taking advantage of great vacations while you are kid-less... once the baby comes... the good life is over (the going out when you want to life I mean... oh how I miss it).

  • You little jet-setters! This is the first year since we've been married that my husband and I haven't taken a real vacation. He's just been too busy with work. And although he's working more hours than ever, we just haven't had much money this year. My point? Get those vacations in while you can. The money is worth the memories!
