Boots, Boots, I Love Boots!

My wonderful husband was so stinkin' good to me this year! He bought me my beautiful coat that I oh-so-politely asked Santa for. He tried to fool me, but I knew he'd get it for me. (He's really nice like that.) What I didn't know, however, is that he'd get me FABULOUS brown boots too!

These boots are Nine West and are even prettier in person. He did such a good job; he picked them out all by himself and they are SOOO me. He is the best!

Adam's mom also bought me footwear for Christmas. These are Antonio Melani and they were way comfortable (which is almost unheard of) and I liked them, but I felt like they were a little bit too mature looking.

They are way more money than she or I would ever normally spend, but her good friend works at Dillards so she was able to get a HUGE discount. Sooo, I braved the crowds on Tuesday afternoon and went to exchange my $90 shoes for something different. Let me tell you, it was no walk in the park. I went to the mall close to my house and I found a pair of Kenneth Cole boots that I really liked, but the sales person I asked told me that they weren't on sale so I drove like 20 minutes to the next mall and where they told me that the boots I loved actually WERE on sale but that they didn't have any left at that store. GRRR. Therefore, I drove BACK to the mall close to my house and luckily found them in my size, yay! And since they were on sale and I didn't have a receipt from my return, I got full credit for the $90 Antonio Melani shoes and ended up paying 74 cents for my $150 Kenneth Cole boots! Can we say bargain shopper?

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good girl this year. I have been nice to my husband (most of the time), have visited my family, and even tried to keep my house clean part of the time. This being said, I would please like you to bring me this magical coat by Laundry by Shelli Segal. The coat itself isn't actually magical, but it's so so pretty. Adam showed it to me at Macy's last night and of course I fell in love with it. Now Santa, it's a little more than I would normally spend on a coat...or a car payment...but it is BEAUTIFUL. I would like it in the color Bark please, size 10. I will try to find a picture to post in the next day or so. As of right now it is on hold in Adam's name at Macy's in the Cottonwood mall in Holladay, UT, so if you are headed in that direction, please feel free to pick it up.

Thank you!

Love,
Kari

Pictures from the Beach!

Yay! I finally reinstalled my camera software so I can upload my pictures onto my computer, thus being able to share them with all of you!

This is the view from our room at The Royal Islander.

Here we are at Tulum. I loved it there, it was so pretty!

This is one of my favorite pictures! We got up really early to watch the sunrise and collect sea shells.

Not the best picture of us....I told you, it was EARLY! Still, kinda cute, right?

What do you mean it looks like we got a little too much sun this day?

Well there you have it! Sorry it took so long!

The Biggest Loser

Let me just start by openly admitting that I am kind of a TV junkie, especially when it comes to reality TV. However, that being said, I'm not a huge die-hard for "The Biggest Loser". I'll occasionally watch it, but I never go out of my way to see it. BUT, I love watching the finale and seeing how much weight everyone has lost. It seriously blows my mind. And yes, I cry.

With that in mind, I am totally feeling so yucky about myself lately. I don't know if I can blame it on my period or the prednosone I am taking (for eczema) or what, but I just feel so unmotivated to do anything. And food? Yeah, I eat lots of it. Nothing healthy either, it's like, "Hey, look, Pringles that I really don't even like that much but they're salty and sitting right there in my cupboard so I better have some" or "Well, I don't have anything planned for dinner, so...let's eat at Astro Burger". Then, of course, I feel gross for eating that kind of stuff, but instead of go to the gym or do anything, I kinda just stay at home and don't. So, tonight while Adam is at indoor football practice (oh I hope he doesn't get hurt---he doesn't have insurance!), I am going to the gym! I'm a big believer in being proactive about things that you want to happen, change, or fix so I am going to try to not constantly be thinking about my weight, food or laziness. I really want to lose 20 pounds, and believe me, I could use even more than that, but I think that 20 pounds is a good and achievable goal. I wish I had a workout buddy! I think I'm going to have to try to go outside of my comfort zone and (gasp) make a friend. Luckily, there's a cute new couple in our ward who just happened to join Gold's Gym, so maybe that will be an easy in for me.

Alright, wish me luck!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Ok, so I know I haven't posted my pictures of Cancun yet. I'll try to do that by tomorrow, I promise. In the meantime...this past weekend (December 10) was our 3 year anniversary! We have done the same thing each year, so we continued it again. We got all dressed up and went to a nice dinner (this year it was at Christopher's Seafood and Steak House) and then to Ballet West's production of "The Nutcracker". I was excited to try out Christopher's, and the food was pretty good, but the seating arrangements kind of sucked. There were obviously just the 2 of us and they sat us right in the middle of a separated table so it really felt like we were eating at a table for 6. We were literally like arm's distance from each of the other couples on both sides of us. Not the most romantic or secluded spot, but it was all good. The ballet was great, as usual, and the little kids in it were freakin' adorable. Fun, Fun, Fun! We have decided that next year we will do something different though because Adam wants to bring his mom with us to "The Nutcracker" and quite frankly, that doesn't sound like a good anniversary to me. We're ready for a change anyway, so if anyone has any recommendations, let me know. After the ballet, we went to Cold Stone then came home and watched "The Bourne Identity". It was a fun weekend and I do not look forward to this week, as I really need to make some money--seeing that my last paycheck was really crappy due to our endless vacationing. Good thing my Christmas shopping is almost all done!
