Happy Halloween!

Yay, it's Halloween!!! I like Halloween, even though we don't really have anything to do tonight. We did make a plan to go to a corn maze though because every single year I want to go and it always passes and we never make it. =( So even though all the corn mazes are probably haunted tonight and I don't love that, I think we're going to go anyway and I'm excited! There's always a chance that our plans could change, but I really hope we get to go!!
Also, we get to carve our pineapple tonight!!! This will be our 5th year and it is the first tradition we ever made together and I LOVE IT! (read here if you need a little background on the pineapple jack-o-lantern). I promise to post a picture of it tomorrow! We're also going to paint my belly, yay!!!

Sick Day

Today I did not feel good so I didn't go to work. I think it's because of a couple reasons: I have needed to get more sleep the past couple nights and my ribs are killing me when I breathe. Plus, I went to the doctor yesterday and that always leaves me feeling yucky afterwards, even though I like going and finding out how I'm doing. I asked my doctor about my ribs hurting and he said it could either be foods (but it's not) or maybe my gallbladder. I think it is that. It hurts so bad on my right side when I breathe. Today has definitely been the worst it's ever been, so I laid in bed ALL DAY. I know I should be doing something productive like cleaning my house (which is in desperate need) but I didn't want to. I honestly haven't even gotten dressed yet and it's 4:54 pm. I think I might try to do something before Adam comes home; maybe it'll make me feel better too.

Anyway, that was boring to read, but it's what you get for the day.

I Was Soooo Close....

Last Thursday I really needed to fill my car up with gas, but for some reason, I only put in $10. Well I drove all over on Friday and Adam and I drove a few places on Saturday and by that time we REALLY needed gas. Well Saturday evening we ran out to get some dinner (cheese pizza at Fazoli's that was really good and an awesome bargain!) and it was snowing! SNOWING, people. So needless to say, we took our hot pizza back home to watch our movie instead of putting gas in the car.

Last night I figured I should get up a few minutes early this morning so I could stop and get gas on the way to work. Well, I didn't get up any earlier and didn't have time to stop and get gas. I thought I'd probably make it though, so I figured I'd be ok and I'd just go to my meeting then head straight to the gas station after it was done.

I was at the freeway exit, second car in line at the stoplight, and my car started kind of revving. I knew that wasn't a good sign. The light changed and I pushed on the gas and the car died. I was searching all over the dash for the emergency blinkers and I could not find them so a couple people behind me just thought I was stupid and wasn't going even though the light was green. I eventually found them and people went around me. There was a car behind me with two men in it and they got out to see if I was ok. I told them that I just ran out of gas so they pushed my car over to the side so others could get around it. They asked if I wanted a ride to the gas station, but I didn't really want to go (for many reasons!) so I explained to them that I work just down the road and that I'd call someone and have them come help me. They said ok and were on their way.

I called my friend Jen and asked her to come rescue me. I just sat there on the shoulder, almost directly underneath the overpass and waited, doing my makeup when the light was green so that the cars who were stopped at the red light wouldn't just think I was doing my makeup in the car in the most inconvenient place for everyone. Two other cars stopped to see if I was ok and I told them that I'd already called someone to help me. Right before Jen made it, I saw those same two guys who had helped push me to the side and they pulled over and had brought me some gas! I was SO THANKFUL to them!!! I offered to pay them for the gas and it was completely out of the question. They were just nice men and I was so glad to have them help me instead of anyone scary. I was also glad that it happened in the morning and not at night in the dark.

I have only run out of gas ONCE, and even then I don't even think I was the one driving, I was with Libbie and she was driving. So thank you, thank you, thank you to the guys who pushed my car to the side of the road and then returned to bring me gas!!! Also thanks to the guys who stopped to see if I needed help once I was on the side.

Fall Leaves!

Today I was SO TIRED!!! We went to dinner last night with David, DaVeen (sp?), Dan, Peggy, Natalie, Chandler, and Leeana and had a good time. I really like DaVeen and we chatted all through dinner. Leeana left her car at our house so after dinner we drove home and ended up chatting with her for like 3 hours! I was so sleepy! I fell asleep in no time, but getting up today was not so easy. I have gotten used to going to bed earlier since I have to leave my house every morning at 7:30, so going to bed at 12:30 am was not condusive for a good night's rest. I didn't get up til 7:08! I made it to work on time, but I did not look so great. You could tell I was tired.

After work, I came home and cleaned out the Honda. I have been using it for the past 3 weeks and my work stuff was overtaking it. I organized all my stuff into two file crates: one that stays in the trunk with books that I need but don't use everyday and extra forms and contracts and the other that will be in the backseat with my everyday stuff. I promised Adam that I'd keep it clean from now on (not that he really cares, he just jokes with me about it) and I think this will really help. I still want to get it detailed SO BAD, but I think I'll wait til our next paycheck to get that done.

When Adam got home, he took a quick shower and we headed up the canyon to look at the leaves. I LOVE fall leaves! They were really pretty and it was nice to take a drive together and just talk and relax. We don't have any pictures of the leaves so we'll have to go again (plus, Leeana thought that we were all supposed to go together to look at the leaves and was quite upset with us for going alone). So yeah, we'll take pics next time.

We did see some little deer though! I love seeing wildlife! We were really high up the canyon and we were driving on this little dirt road. Adam said something about this being where they have ski runs in the winter and I was like, "On the road?" I knew the snow covered it by like 5 feet or more, but I didn't realize that we were driving on the run itself! It was kind of weird to me. We were almost right by the ski lift. Lately, I feel like I have been saying the most stupid things! I am going to blame it on the pregnancy because I really am a smart person, but these past couple days one might really question that.
